Problems with Iran
For many years, the United States and Iran have not been the best of friends. In 2017, President Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal, in which Iran promised to decrease their uranium supplies, in order to get relief from sanctions imposed on them. President Trump saw this deal as an ineffective deal and withdrew. Our relations with Iran began escalate. Former National Security Advisor John Bolton took a hawkish stance toward Iran, while many fearing that regime change was a high possibility. Sanctions have been imposed on Iran, worsening their economy. President Trump has ordered a maximum pressure campaign to shrink and cripple Iran’s economy.
